I am Fiza Gohar, clinical dietitian and nutritionist devoted to evidence-based MNT and well-being. I am associated with IMAHRKMI where I use my professional knowledge and experience for your wellbeing. I support my clients to be viable, and build their strong relation with food without losing their preferences and taste. Passionate about health, theoretical mentorship, and exploring about different cultures through food. Nutrition isn’t just about eating or counting just calories, its about a way of learning to live your life.

Academic Background

I completed my Bachelors in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Riphah International University, Gulberg Greens Islamabad. My academic training builds a strong foundation in advanced Nutritional Assessment, Counselling, Medical Nutrition Therapy, and customized diet plans. My education at Riphah emphasized on clinical management of complex diseases rather than only focusing on general wellness.

Prior to my professional degree, I completed my college from Fauji Foundation college lalazar Rawalpindi and my foundation schooling from Army Public School and College System, Rawalpindi. Throughout my academic years, I determine academic excellence, develop clinical skills and responsibility towards my profession.

Clinical experience

I have expanded my clinical expertise through various internships in different respected hospitals. As a clinical dietitian internee in Armed Forced Institute of Rehab Medicine {AFIRM} Rawalpindi, I conducted one to one session with variety of patients, did counselling sessions with them, customized their diet plan as per their needs while respecting their preferences and their culture. I also took care of indoor patients’ diet and did improve their nutritional status by collaborating with multidisciplinary health professional.

Prior to that I completed my internship at Quaid e Azam International Hospital Islamabad where I gained experience in Food service Department and polished my skills in calculating specialized macronutrient requirement, manage tube feedings for critical patients and deliver motivational, empathetic counselling and give highly accessible options to the patients.

Previous to that I did my observership at Nisar Hospital, Rawalpindi where I advanced my nutritional assessment skills, learned patient dealing. In addition to this I also went to Pakistan Railway Hospital Rawalpindi for clinical Rotations as part of my curriculum where I learned how to deal with patients with low socio-economic backgrounds and how we can provide a good nutritional support to them within their budget so that they can also live a good and healthy lifestyle.

Certifications and workshops

Advanced my clinical and practical skills through several certifications and workshops during my academic years. Those includes:

  • Webinar on cancer and diet in chemotherapy
  • Certificate of participation in “Diabetes Awareness Session”
  • Webinar on distress related fibromyalgia and its treatment
  • How to fight back malnutrition
  • Hydration in older Adults: Clinical Guidelines and strategies to improve Hydration
  • Webinar on nutritional deficiencies revealed by physical examination

These certificates and workshops improve my clinical, practical skills. this demonstrates my deep commitment to constant learning and professional progression within the emerging field of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Nutrition Awareness camp

I participated in a Nutrition Awareness Camp during my degree in Riphah International university in which I did Nutritional Assessment of fellow students, listened to their queries and counseled them on “what is mindful Eating” and explain them the concept of “My Plate” and how they can incorporate this in daily life.

Product development Competition

I participated in a product development competition in which I introduce a nutritional product to the panel for PMOS {Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome}, also calculated its nutritional profile.
